Based in Dali (Yunnan province), Rural China is a smallteam of both local & foreign travel experts. Ever since 2006 we have been organizing trips in less touristy places of rural Yunnan. Here locals still do farming and practice ancestor worship, often dressed in their elegant minority costumes. Yunnan’s spectacular landscapes along with its ethnical minority groups, diverse cuisine, weekly markets, sacred snow glazier mountains and emerald green lakes, leaves deep impressions on each traveler. China is moving fast and constant development means major changes in the living standards of the Chinese people, as the country transforms into part of the modern world. However, some places and communities still preserve the old ways and rural China is where people respect ancestral tradition and live harmoniously in balance with nature. This is the lesser seen China. First time travelled to Yunnan province in the year 2000, to discover this very special and exceptional part of south west China. Well informed about the Tibetan culture and Tibetan Buddhism. Now based in Dali, Yunnan province, Axing keeps on guiding in Shangri-la and Deqin, and is well accustomed to the area.
